It's good to see that Pharma companies are more and more thought of as the culprit for the Opioid Crisis. But if we look at the US values of individualism and "picking yourself by the bootstraps" it's also not hard to understand why individual users are thought of as the ones to blame. The new book that we are starting to read, American Pain, also sheds light on how pharmacists, police, and doctors are all complicit in this crisis.
The same in a previous comment, its good to see that people are starting to look at Pharma companies more for the cause behind this epidemic. Also going along the lines that the US culture is so focused on individualist values that there is a low amount of empathy towards users that needs to change.
