Opioid Addiction Advertisement

https://www.adweek.com/brand-marketing/a-teen-wrote-and-co-directed-this-powerful-psa-about-the-rapid-spiral-of-opioid-addiction/

I think this is a good advertisement that helps bring awareness to the crisis and I could definitely see this video being shared on different news outlets.

What did you think about the ad overall?

  1. I would personally agree with you. I really liked the ad, and I think it could be very beneficial in bringing awareness to the opioid crisis, along with the versatility of being able to be shared on many different platforms and news outlets

  2. I think that ads that reveal the propensity of addiction and the role of opioids and Big Pharma in it are good, particularly in a country that shows so many pharmaceutical advertisements.

    1. Yeah ads that shed a different light would get more attention from viewers than just simply another ad. Who even watches commercials with intent today, outside of the ones during the super bowl?

  3. I believe this advertisement is a good approach to bringing awareness to the opiod crisis, but may be difficult for many people to watch because it's a very upsetting reality. But that may be the image people need to see for there to be real change.

  4. This is similar to how the media started the fight against tobacco. It's a good way to counter Big Pharma in the realm of advertising.

  5. This advertisement brings awareness of the issue to the public. As long as we avoid government propaganda or big corporations manipulating advertisements with their money, these kinds of videos should be pushed for.
